Fairfax 17-week revenue down 6%

Fairfax Media's overall revenue across its continuing businesses for the 17 weeks to April 23 is six per cent lower than a year ago.

The media company said in a trading update on Thursday that revenue for its real estate listing business Domain is up by 10 per cent for the period, while total digital business revenue is up 18 per cent.

However, its news operations have continued to bleed, with revenue for both Metro Media and Australian Community Media down 11 per cent.
