A repatriation ceremony will be held in Brisbane on Friday for two Australian soldiers killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Afghanistan.
The bodies of 35-year-old father of two Private Grant Kirby and 21-year-old Private Tomas Dale will arrive at the RAAF's Amberley base about 2pm (AEST) on Friday.
The duo, from the Brisbane-based 6th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment, were killed by an IED while standing near their Bushmaster vehicle in the Baluchi Valley on August 20.
The ceremony will be attended by their families, their unit, senior political representatives and military personnel.
