Family First wants South Australia's clocks turned back 30 minutes to help enmesh the state's economy with its Asian trading partners.
"It gives us a great branding opportunity with our government and our future growth markets in Asia because it brings us half-an-hour closer to their time zones," state MP Rob Brokenshire told AAP after introducing a bill into parliament.
"We would be able to pitch that at meetings, saying we're so committed to grow our future with your future that we're willing to bring our time zone half-an-hour closer."
The government last month dropped its bid to move the state's clocks forward 30 minutes to bring it into line with the eastern states.
The decision came after the opposition and minor parties pledged to block the legislation in parliament's upper house.
