Cate Blanchett fans have gathered by the red carpet at the British Academy Film Awards in London to cheer her on for a best actress award.
The 46-year-old Australian has been nominated for the award for her role in the lesbian love story Carol.
Above a banner reading "Queen Blanchett", Izabela Zimirowicz waited with friends outside the Royal Opera House on Sunday evening after two days camping out to win their spots for the celebrity walk-ins.
The Polish national, who lives in London, told AAP that "Queen Blanchett" was what a lot of the Australian star's fans call her.
"I made the banner to get her attention and maybe she'll come over here.
"I like her because she's not afraid to speak out, say what she thinks, joke around during interviews, and I think she's a great role model."
Friend Karolina Goralic, also from Poland, said she especially liked what Blanchett stood for in Carol, for the LGBT community.
"We're here for Cate," she said.
Veronika Janakova, from the Czech Republic, said Blanchett was a "great actor who deserves to win every award ever."
Blanchett arrived on the red carpet wearing a long dress with a multi-coloured sequined top and stopped to chat to fans on the sidelines.
