Melbourne's large Greek community is gearing up for a football friendly between the Socceroos and the Greek national team.
Members of the Adelaide Hellas fan club bypassed Sydney to join their Melbourne counterparts for the second friendly, taking place on Tuesday.
Alex Alexandrou, from Adelaide, said it was a momentous occasion.
"It's fantastic to see Greece and Australia play each other, the countries have got a great history together," he said.
While fans like Kosta Mantis made a decision of which side to back.
"I'll probably barrack for Greece tonight," he said. "It's our homeland, where all our ancestors have come from, so we'll support them tonight. But won't be upset if Australia wins."
"It's something really positive and it just brings everyone together and makes u all remember what it's all about really."
Members of Melbourne's large Greek community not attending the game will be in Oakleigh to watch it live and cafe manager Sheridan Lowry said it was a welcome morale boost.
"It's such a good thing to get behind, especially with all of the chaos in Greece right now," she said. "It's something really positive and it just brings everyone together and makes us all remember what it's all about really."
The Socceroos trained on the pitch last night, and with the roof closed tonight much better conditions are expected.
While attendance won't come close to the more than 90,000 who flocked to the MCG friendly back in 2006, there's still a buzz in the air at Etihad, as fans prepare for an exciting night.
