The Farmer Wants a Wife contestant Megan Purcell is looking for love, but she's also looking for a political career.
Purcell won Liberal preselection on Tuesday night for the federal seat of Bendigo in central Victoria.
The marginal seat is held by Labor by just 1.3 per cent, meaning the Maldon businesswoman is in with a chance when Australians head to the polls later this year.
Purcell, 31, says she is proud and eager to meet members of her electorate.
"More huge news you guys," Purcell wrote on her Instagram page on Tuesday night.
"Pretty darn proud to be a part of Malcolm Turnbull's team and looking forward to getting out and meeting and listening to you all, right across Central Victoria."
Purcell, a reservist in the army and a freelance consultant, is described as a "natural go-getter" according to her profile on the Farmer Wants a Wife website.
Viewers will have to wait and see if Purcell's go-getting ways will attract romance on the Nine reality series.
