A fast food employee accused of sexually assaulting a customer who had asked to use the shop's toilet must keep working at the store as part of his bail conditions.
The 22-year-old man faced Brisbane's Magistrate Court on Saturday on assault with intent to commit rape, sexual assault, deprivation of liberty and assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
The court was told the student from India groped the female's chest and pinned her against a sink causing her bruising to her buttocks about 3.35am on October 24.
"She's gone there and asked to use the ladies toilets ... and then has seen the defendant at the toilet door," police prosecutor Henri Rantala said.
"The allegation is the defendant tried to put his tongue in the complainant's mouth... has grabbed the bottom of the complainant's playsuit with force and tried to remove the playsuit by lifting it up and down."
The accused spoke to police and has agreed to an STD test
Mr Rantala said the defendant says the woman hugged him.
"The complainant has asked him to unzip the dress ... prior to going to the toilet and then coming out received a hug which the defendant understood as consent," Mr Rantala said.
The student's family and his employer were in court.
His barrister told Magistrate Elizabeth Hall that he is "an extremely hard working employee and had no trust issues".
Ms Hall granted bail on the condition he surrender his passport, reside with family and continue to work at the fast food outlet.
"You do not present as an unacceptable risk ... you are to remain employed where you are," she said.
The man is due to return to Brisbane's Magistrates Court on November 28.
