Federal parliament will sit on November 12 for the first time since the election.
Governor-General Quentin Bryce will open the 44th parliament on November 12.
The first item of legislative business will be laws to abolish the carbon tax.
The House of Representatives and Senate will sit for three days that week, with four days of lower house sittings scheduled for the following week when Senate budget estimates hearings will be held.
The two houses will also sit for two weeks starting December 2.

Leader of the House Christopher Pyne said the coalition government looked forward to fulfilling promises made to the Australian people.
"We are committed to building a stronger economy, abolishing the carbon tax, ending the waste, stopping the boats, cutting red tape and building the infrastructure of the 21st century."
