Fernando Alonso conceded that Ferrari are a long way from catching front-runners Red Bull and McLaren after finishing a disappointing eighth place at Sunday's Turkish Grand Prix.
Double champion Alonso started Ferrari's 800th Grand Prix in 12th position, but had a tough time catching Renault driver Russian Vitaly Petrov around the Istanbul Park circuit.
Ferrari team-mate Brazilian Felipe Massa settled for seventh as he was unable to catch Nico Rosberg of Mercedes or Pole Robert Kubica, also driving for Renault.

Alonso admitted that he was shocked by Ferrari's lack of pace.
"We have been a bit surprised, as both in Barcelona and here we were not too competitive.
"All race, Felipe fought with Rosberg and I fought with Petrov, so we are at Renault's level, which is obviously not enough."
Alonso hopes that upgrades expected ahead of the Canadian Grand will help before frontrunners red Bull and McLaren are out of reach.
"We have an improvement for Canada and then for Valencia we have a bigger package. But we know McLaren and Red Bull are very far away, and we don't know if that's enough, so we have to work very hard."
Surprisingly, Alonso is still 14 points within reach of drivers' championship leader Australian Mark Webber of Red Bull.
"The points are good," added Alonso. "Logically we wanted more, but we were third in the championship, now we are fourth so we are still there.
"We don't have the fastest car, and yet we are one point ahead of Vettel, so we aren't doing too bad."
