Football Federation Australia and NSW Police have responded jointly to two incidents at pre-season soccer games, announcing bans and criminal charges for spectators who break laws and the FFA Spectator Code of contact.
The announcement follows the incidents at games between Sydney FC and Macarthur Rams at Campbelltown Stadium on August 14 and Sydney United and Western Sydney Wanderers at Edensor Park on August 22. Five people have since been charged.
