A Palestinian advocacy group says fierce winter weather has highlighted the dire living conditions in the Gaza Strip.

Torrential rains caused widespread flooding, and led to the shut down of Gaza's sole power plant for weeks.

The Australia Palestine Advocacy Network says civilians continue to struggle because of Israel's refusal to permit sufficient humanitarian entry into the area.

Network spokeswoman Samah Sabawi described the recent conditions in the Palestinian territory to Zara Zaher.
