FIFA has fined Denmark's soccer federation $20,040 and given them a warning for fan misconduct during the team's 1-1 draw with Australia.

FIFA said in a statement that Danish supporters disrespected "pre-match protocol" ahead of their encounter with Australia's Socceroos, which requires fans to respect the national anthem of opposing countries before a game.

Denmark was also charged for fans displaying “a sexist banner” at the game in Samara.

The Danish Football Association could not immediately be reached for comment.

Denmark, currently second in Group C, play France in their last group stage match on Tuesday at Moscow's Luzhniki stadium.
FIFA is currently using anti-discrimination monitors during the World Cup to spot offensive behaviour.

Swedish winger Jimmy Durmaz said he was subjected to a storm of racial hatred and threats for giving away a stoppage-time free kick against Germany on Saturday.

Swiss captain Stephan Lichtsteiner is facing a two-game ban for celebrating a goal with a hand gesture of an Albanian two-headed eagle in Switzerland’s 2-1 win over Serbia on Sunday.

Other Swiss players who also performed the hand gesture included Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqir.

Serbia’s coach Mladen Krstajic and federation president Slavisa Kokeza have also been hit with disciplinary action after FIFA opened cases on them for comments made after their loss to Switzerland.
