A documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock is paying a city in the US state of Pennsylvania $25,000 to change its name for 60 days to promote his new film POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, News.com.au reports.
Spurlock is paying Altoona, a city of nearly 50,000 people, to change its name after the release of his new film which pokes fun at product placement and branding in movies and TV.
Spurlock, who was nominated for an Oscar for his documentary Super Size Me said he came up with the idea after his film debuted in January at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.
