Filmmaker Spike Jonze wins Her lawsuit

Filmmaker Spike Jonze has won his legal battle against two writers who accused him of ripping off their film concept to create Her.

Filmmaker Spike Jonze has emerged victorious in his legal battle with two writers who accused him of stealing the idea for his Oscar-winning Her script from their screenplay.

Sachin Gadh and Jonathan Sender sued the director, claiming he ripped off their concept for a film called Belv, which they submitted to bosses at CAA, the agency which represents Jonze, in 2011.

In the lawsuit, the pair outlined similarities between the two scripts, but a judge has disagreed with Gadh and Sender and dismissed their case.

Her, which featured Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson, was nominated for five Academy Awards earlier this year.
