WORLD FINANCE UPDATE:

The Australian dollar is close to a third of a US cent higher, following rises in US stocks and base metals prices.

At 0630 AEDT on Tuesday, the local unit was trading at 91.60 US cents, up from 91.30 cents on Monday.

And the Australian share market looks set to open flat despite gains on international markets after Iran struck a landmark deal on its nuclear program that will see sanctions eased on the key oil exporter.

At 0648 AEDT on Tuesday, the December share price index futures contract was unchanged at 5,375.

ELSEWHERE:

WASHINGTON - US pending home sales slowed in October for the fifth straight month as supply tightens and consumers baulk at higher prices, an industry survey shows.

ROME - Italy's trade surplus has doubled in 12 months thanks to a rise in exports, particularly to China and the United States, new data shows.

DHAKA - Bangladesh and the United States have signed a trade agreement (FTA) in a move Dhaka hopes will bolster a relationship damaged by the deadly collapse of a garment factory earlier this year.

NEW YORK - Apple has acquired Israel-based motion technology company PrimeSense for an undisclosed sum.
