Finch stars again in IPL with second 50

Aaron Finch has hit in his second half-century in as many games for the Gurujat Lions in the Indian Premier League.

Aaron Finch again reminded Australian selectors what they missed out on in the World T20, smashing his second consecutive half-century on Thursday in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Finch's 50, which came off just 36 balls, helped the Brad Hodge-coached Gurujat Lions chase down the Rising Pune Supergiants' total of 163 with two overs and seven wickets to spare at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

The former Australian Twenty20 captain hit 40 of his 50 runs in boundaries, including two massive sixes down the ground in one over, during an 85-run opening partnership with New Zealander Brendon McCullum.

Finch played just two matches at Australia's doomed World T20 campaign in India, after being dropped at the beginning of the tournament.

He was the only Australian to impress in Thursday night's fixture, after Steve Smith hit just five and Mitch Marsh seven.

James Faulkner was not required to bat, but his two overs with the ball went wicketless for 15 runs.

Finch has been Australia's best performer in the IPL so far, after also hitting 74 off 47 balls in the Lions' opening game of the tournament against Kings XI.
