Fire approaches central Qld homes

A fast-moving bushfire is approaching properties in the small region of Kinkuna, south of Bundaberg, with residents warned to consider evacuating.

Queensland residents from a small region south of Bundaberg are being warned to consider leaving homes as six fire crews battle a large bushland blaze.

The fast-moving fire at Kinkuna is heading west towards Coonarr Road and will impact surrounding streets in coming hours, the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) says.

The QFES warns firefighters won't be able to protect every affected property and residents should finalise their bushfire plans or leave if their homes can't provide protection.
