A fire has erupted at a Sydney CBD train station.

The fire has caused the evacuation of multiple platforms and emergency crews are at the scene.

The fire on the concourse at Central Railway Station is believed to have started in a fast food restaurant.

A precautionary evacuation has been carried out, police say, as fire fighters attend to the blaze.
