Around 50 fire crews are currently controlling flare-ups from a bushfire on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula as the threat of more fires across the state eases.

The Country Fire Service says the bushfire at Finniss was brought under control late Friday night, but that firefighters were still in the area to control flare-ups.

And in New South Wales, firefighters have contained a bushfire that may have been deliberately lit on the mid-north coast.

The blaze broke out yesterday in the Booti Booti National Park near Forster, forcing the closure of roads in the area and isolating the town of Green Point.

Elsewhere, Victorian firefighters are making the most of cooler conditions as they battle to bring two out-of-control bushfires within containment lines, while no new bushfires were recorded on today.

The blaze broke out in plantations near Nelson yesterday and has burned into the Lower Glenelg National Park.

Temperatures in much of the south-west have now dropped to the mid-teens, and the cool change has also swept through Melbourne.

The weather bureau warns there will be little relief in the state's north, with temperatures there today are again forecast to reach the mid-40s.
