Fire threatens Norman Lindsay Gallery

Fire crews are at hand to protect the Norman Lindsay Gallery in Faulconbridge which has gone into lockdown to prevent a bushfire disaster.

The Norman Lindsay Art Gallery in the Blue Mountains is being evacuated as fire threatens valuable artworks inside.

Gallery worker Sharon said guests at the gallery in Faulconbridge in the lower mountains have been moved out of the gallery.

"We have just had the RFS in, they told us we should leave," she said.

"We will be evacuating any minute now ... the gallery is going into lockdown now.

"She also described how flames were "licking at my door".
