A first grader in Oklahoma has now been given the opportunity to attend class through a telepresence system, a robot.
Conrad Dixon has a rare immune system disorder, so rare it has no name.
According to CNN, Mr Dixon is the only one in the world who has this disease.
Wynnewood School has been able to provide the first grader with a robot, which Mr Dixon can control hundreds of miles away from his classroom and even the school halls.
"It's a true blessing and honestly it was a lot of answered prayer. We just have tremendous hopes, we're very excited about this opportunity," says Raymond Cole, Wynnewood Schools Superintendent.
Mr Dixon is bound for Denver, where he will receive a bone marrow transplant to hopefully create a healthy and normal life. His robot will be coming with him.
"I just have to have it [the robot] because I'm going to Denver for something called a bone marrow transplant and I'm going to be leaving for awhile," says Mr Dixon.
