New Blues coach Brad Fittler will hand his whiz kids a licence to thrill as he plots to end Queensland's decade of State of Origin dominance in style.
Fittler will clear out the dead wood and usher in an exciting new crop of stars, convinced youthful exuberance is the key to a changing of the guard.
Laurie Daley introduced seven newcomers to the Origin arena in 2016 plus two more this season - but Fittler is promising more after NSW suffered four series defeats in five years under his predecessor.
When appointed last week, Fittler forecast a new generation of stars would challenge the Blues' old guard in 2018, nominating the likes of Mitchell Moses, Nathan Cleary and Tom and Jake Trbojevic as super talents to take NSW forward.
But incumbent fullback James Tedesco may have let the cat out of the bag at the Blues' new jumper launch in Sydney.

"I was talking to 'Freddy' (Fittler) then. There's going to be a few changes and I think it's going to be good for us," Tedesco said.
"It's a young squad that we've built from last year and there's a lot of young players coming through as well so there's a lot of challenges for positions."
Tedesco hailed Fittler's appointment as a breath of fresh air.
"He was coaching me with the City side a few years ago when I was on the wing and his energy and his laid-back attitude, I think it's going to be good for us," he said.
"He let us play how we feel and that's a good for us. We had a lot of superstars who played to their strengths and I think he'll allow that."
Tedesco says the Blues and Australian Test legend has a knack of helping his players fulfil their potential.
"Just by letting the players know their strengths," he said.
"I was talking to Mitch and their Lebanon (World Cup) side, and what he did with them, he was saying that Freddy allowed them to play the footy that they wanted to play and gave them free rein, which brought the best out of them.
"So if he could do for us at the Blues, we'll get some success.
"You look at our team from last year, there was a lot of attacking flair in our team.
"The job for Freddy is to get that out of all of us, through all three games, and if he can give us that free rein, I think we're going to show that."
Fittler said he planned on announcing his assistant coaches in coming weeks, with fellow Blues great Andrew Johns almost certain to be among the appointments and six-time series-winning mentor Phil Gould also "on board".
