Five young people have been charged after a terrifying Sydney home invasion where a pregnant teenager was kicked in the stomach.

The 16-year-old girl, who was with five other people, was allegedly assaulted by a gang of seven teens and youths at a Cronulla unit around 2.30am on Tuesday.

A 37-year-old man who was with the teenagers in the unit was also allegedly assaulted with a hammer.

NSW Police say three men and two female teenagers who are in police custody have been charged.

Two 16-year-old girls, including the pregnant girl, have been discharged from Sutherland Hospital.

The girl's boyfriend told AAP she was about four months into the pregnancy and was doing OK following her release from hospital.

"But I don't want to talk about it," he said.

The injured man remains in a stable condition in St George Hospital.

Police said the victims knew their attackers but it's unclear what motivated the attack.

The group allegedly stole an iPad, a push bike and a dirt bike, which have all been recovered by police.

An older relative of the pregnant girl said the young victims would receive counselling.

"They were just sitting at home and those people came and knocked at the door," the relative, who did not want to give her name, told AAP.

"(The alleged attackers) are just bad people."
