Five dead in Paris apartment fire

Five people have been killed after an apartment block caught fire in the French capital Paris.

An apartment fire in northern Paris has left at least five people dead, a news report says.

Two more people were seriously injured and nine other slightly hurt when the fire broke out in the upper storeys of the block in the suburb of Saint Denis late on Monday, AFP reports.

The cause of the fire is not known.
