Five Queensland greyhound trainers have been banned for life over the live baiting scandal.
The five were previously issued with show cause notices as to why they should not be warned off.
Reg Kay, Debra Arnold, James Harding, Tom Noble and Tony McCabe received the life bans on Monday night after the Queensland All Codes Racing Industry Board considered the matters.
Greg Stella made a verbal submission to the show cause notice and his case has been referred back to stewards while Michael Chapman's case has been adjourned to consider further evidence.
Queensland Racing boss Kevin Dixon said his board considered the five trainers unworthy of being involved in the industry.
"As a board we determined the actions of these individuals proved they should not be considered fit and proper persons to continue to be involved in the greyhound industry," Mr Dixon said in a statement.
"The conduct we saw from these people in the evidence provided to us is not only against the rules of greyhound racing, it is deplorable by its very nature."
Earlier on Monday, the Queensland government announced it will conduct an independent review of the state's greyhound industry.
Racing Minister Bill Byrne says the $3 million review, to be fully funded by the racing industry, would be headed by barrister Alan McSporran SC.
He said the review, to take about three months, would determine how misconduct that led to the suspension of trainers allegedly involved in live-baiting occurred without earlier detection.
It will also investigate how widespread the practice is and what changes are needed to effectively regulate against it.
