Five more measles cases in Melbourne

Five more adults in Melbourne have contracted measles, taking a recent outbreak's total to nine.

Five more cases of measles have been recorded in Melbourne.

The new cases, three women and two men aged in their 20s and 30s, bring to nine the tally in the recent outbreak around the inner-city suburb of Brunswick.

Victoria's health department is reminding people that young children, women of child-bearing age and at-risk groups such as indigenous people and refugees are eligible for free vaccines.
