Australian Rhein Gibson fired a round-best five-under 65 on Sunday, but it wasn't enough to make up for a dismal second round at the Web.com Tour Championship.

Gibson fired under a seven-under 63 on Thursday to take an early lead in the event, but fumbled through a second round which included eight bogies on Friday.

He now sits in a five-way tie for 12th, seven shots behind Argentina's Emiliano Grillo.

Fellow Aussies Robert Allenby and Rod Pampling are four shots further back in a tied for 39th, while Aaron Baddeley had an horrific Sunday, hitting a three-over 73 to sit in 61st.

The tournament is the fourth and final event in the series for the top 75 players from the Web.com Tour money list, Nos. 126-200 in the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup standings and non-members such as Grillo who earned enough money to have placed in the top 200 had they been eligible to receive points.
