Flood warnings for WA's midwest

A flood warning has been issued for Western Australia's Midwest Gascoyne region as a cloud band descends on the central coast.

Parts of Western Australia are bracing for a very wet Easter, with flood warnings issued for the Midwest Gascoyne region.

Rain is forecast to sweep across the central west coast of the state over the long weekend, with daily rainfall of up to 100mm expected between Geraldton, Mullewa and Southern Cross.

Locals have been warned of a significant rise to the Greenough, Irwin and Moore Rivers, with localised flash flooding a possibility.

The Bureau of Meteorology has warned drivers to take care crossing flooded roads.
