Florsch returning home after horror crash

After surviving a most spectacular crash in Macau just eight days ago, German 17-year-old Formula 3 driver Sophia Florsch is returning home.

Sophia Florsch is returning home just eight days after her horror crash at the Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix in which she suffered a fractured spine.

The 17-year-old German underwent an 11-hour operation after the incident, in which her car flew through the air before crashing into a fence.

Florsch wrote on her Facebook page: "Today I am flying back home. Really happy to see all my family and friends in the next days again.

"I am still overwhelmed by all the support I got from all you fans around the world.

"I celebrated my 2nd birthday on the 18.11.2018 in Macau - now a new chapter starts and I can't wait for it to begin. Let's focus on 2019."
