Fonua set for spell on the sidelines

Former Melbourne winger Mahe Fonua wil miss up to six week of action for Super League club Hull FC after injuring his knee on his Super League debut.

Hull expect to be without new signing Mahe Fonua for up to six weeks after he injured a knee on his Super League debut.

The former Melbourne Storm winger was hurt during Hull's 42-20 win over Salford last Friday and will undergo surgery.

"The news is positive," coach Lee Radford said.

"He had a scan (on Wednesday night) and the experts think he'll only be out for a month or so, probably about four to six weeks, so that is really good news for the lad.

"He'll have a routine operation to sort it out and straight into rehab with our medical team who'll manage him back to fitness over the coming weeks."
