Food poisoning scare at market

A food poisoning outbreak could be linked to a stall at an ACT night noodle market, health authorities say.

A market stall at Canberra's Enlighten Night Noodle Markets might be behind an outbreak of gastroenteritis.

Several cases of food poisoning have been reported by people who have suffered diarrhoea 10-13 hours after eating at the stall, according to ACT Health.

Officials are confident there is no ongoing risk from food sold at the stall.

"Potentially hazardous food found out of temperature control has been disposed of and the stall will not be able to sell the implicated food for the remainder of the festival," the health department said in a statement.

Further inspections of stalls at the market are expected to continue.
