Format changes to 'hurt' Davis Cup: Hewitt

Australia's captain Lleyton Hewitt says the Davis Cup has been hurt by changes to the format which he reckons are ridiculous.

Lleyton Hewitt has branded changes to the Davis Cup format as "ridiculous", saying the revamp risks the future of the 119-year-old event.

Hewitt will captain Australia against Bosnia and Herzegovina from Friday under a fresh Davis Cup format of three-set matches over two days, without home-and-away ties.

"It really hurts the Davis Cup," Hewitt told reporters in Adelaide on Tuesday,
