One-time Canberra villain Michael Ennis has joined the NRL club's staff, three years after Raiders coach Ricky Stuart had slammed his behaviour in the nation's capital.
The Cronulla premiership-winning hooker riled Canberra supporters after the Sharks' 2016 qualifying final victory over the Raiders.
Ennis celebrated the win in front of an army of disappointed Raiders supporters by clapping his hands to mock the 'Viking clap' , which has become synonymous with Canberra at GIO Stadium.
Stuart sprayed the former NSW State of Origin player after the game, calling his conduct "offensive", "disrespectful" and "typical Michael Ennis".
But the pair have moved on from the incident, with Ennis to begin work at the Raiders in a part-time coaching role, primarily to help star hooker Josh Hodgson.
The 34-year-old will balance his coaching commitments in Canberra with commentary duties at Fox Sports.
"I've always enjoyed the passion of the Raiders' fans and, that night (in 2016), I'd never seen a stadium like it," Ennis said.
"It was a pretty special night for us, it was a win that was probably one of the hardest in my whole career and one that proved to be vital towards winning the premiership.
"The carry-on afterwards is probably not so good now."
Canberra are hoping Ennis can take Hodgson to another level as the Raiders look to play finals for the first time since 2016.
Hodgson was instrumental three years ago in the Raiders' charge towards a preliminary final, but missed most of last year because of a knee injury.
"Obviously, Hodgson's a terrific player so to work with him is going to be a good experience," Ennis said.
"You've got young (Siliva) Havili there as well and he played terrific last year."
