The NSW home of former union official Kathy Jackson has been raided as a court battle between her and the Health Services Union continues.

Former union official Kathy Jackson's NSW home has been raided as part of a joint operation between federal and Victorian police.

Her home at Wombarra, north of Wollongong, was on Wednesday searched as part of Operation Heracles, which is investigating allegations referred by the unions royal commission.

It's understood to be linked to a criminal complaint the Health Services Union made to police in February about the disgraced former HSU secretary, and is believed to involve $900,000 of $1.4 million that the Federal Court in August ordered Jackson to repay the union.

Jackson, now bankrupt, has appealed to the Federal Court after being ordered to repay the HSU $1,338,626 in damages and $67,912 in overpaid salary.

That came after the court found Jackson had used union money to prop up her lavish lifestyle.

The HSU is fighting the appeal and the matter will return to court in November.

Ms Jackson has been under scrutiny by the unions royal commission, which last Friday released a report describing her actions as "a sorry history of misappropriation and deceit."

Further information is being sought from Victorian police.
