Australian star Jessica Fox has finished well outside the medals at the canoe slalom World Cup in Prague.

Fox, a two-time Olympic medallist, incurred a 50-second penalty for a missed gate of the women's K1 final on Sunday, finishing 10th.

She met the same fate in the C1 semi-finals a day earlier.

"I had an edging mistake, missed gate seven because of what I did in gates four and five," said the 23-year-old Fox.

"After that it was hard to get back into it. I didn't feel like myself on the water."

Fellow Australian Ros Lawrence finished in eighth place in the K1 final.

The pair will head to Germany for the second leg of the World Cup next weekend.
