Germany's unexpected exit from the 2018 FIFA World Cup didn't go unnoticed in Brazil, who suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the European giants during the last edition of the tournament.

In 2014, Germany inflicted then-host Brazil's heaviest ever defeat with a 7-1 demolition at the semi-final stage.

The result led to mass mourning across football-mad Brazil, with Germany going onto lift the trophy by defeating Argentina in the final.

Germany was favoured to meet Brazil during the round of 16 knockout stage at the 2018 tournament.

But after suffering a 2-0 loss to South Korea and subsequently being eliminated, sporting outlet Fox Sports Brazil struggled to contain its excitement at Germany's demise.

Providing very little detail, Fox Sports' series of tweets had a clear message.

Fellow social media users were quick to point out the reaction.
