French number eight Damien Chouly and centre Mathieu Bastareaud will miss France's match against Ireland in the Six Nations.

The French Rugby Federation said Chouly sprained an ankle in training on Monday, while Bastareaud was ruled out as a precautionary measure because he was concussed while playing for club side Toulon against Lyon on Saturday.

Chouly, who has 45 Test caps, will be replaced by Raphael Lakafia, who has four caps.

The FFR did not immediately say if Bastareaud, who has 39 caps, would be replaced.

So far France has lost to England and beaten Scotland at home while Ireland has lost to Scotland and beaten Italy.
