St Kilda have confirmed luckless AFL midfielder Nathan Freeman has been delisted along with Hugh Goddard, Nathan Wright and Ray Connellan.

St Kilda midfielder Nathan Freeman's luckless AFL journey has come to an end with the Saints confirming he has been delisted after just two games.

Persistent injuries meant Freeman spent almost five years in the AFL system before making his long-awaited debut in round 20 this season.

Freeman retained his spot the following week but was dropped for the final two games of the season.

It is a cruel blow for the 23-year-old, who was forced to watch a whopping 423 players make their AFL debuts between being drafted by Collingwood in 2013 and getting his first senior game.

"Nathan's journey has obviously been well documented and it was a really proud moment for everyone involved in his career to see him debut this year," Saints football boss Simon Lethlean said on Wednesday.

"He has left no stone unturned to overcome persistent hamstring issues and his positive influence on the group despite his injuries is testament to his character."

Nathan Wright, Hugh Goddard and rookie Ray Connellan have also been delisted.

Key defender Goddard is another who battled with injuries throughout his career, managing just 10 games after being picked up in the 2014 draft.

A 2012 draft recruit, Wright played 35 games for the Saints.

The Saints have promised sweeping changes after missing the finals for a seventh-straight year.

On Wednesday they unveiled SEEK chief executive Andrew Bassat as their new president, replacing the outgoing Peter Summers.
