The November 13 terror attacks in Paris and an unseasonably warm winter contributed to the weak 1.1 per cent growth of France's economy in 2015.

France's economy grew by a weak 1.1 per cent in 2015, as its last quarter was weighed down by the November 13 terror attacks in Paris and an unseasonably warm winter.

The national economic statistics agency on Friday released the annual figures, which saw just 0.2 per cent growth in the final quarter of 2015 compared with the previous three months.

There was a marked 0.9 per cent decrease in household spending during the period.

Unemployment has hovered around 10 per cent since 2009 in France, and the Socialist government has repeatedly promised to increase growth and get more people working by easing labour rules and taxes.
