Fremantle veteran Danyle Pearce insists he and his teammates won't be green with envy even if the Dockers' hierarchy decide to throw $15 million at Melbourne forward Jesse Hogan.
Former Brisbane spearhead Jonathan Brown raised eyebrows on Monday night when he urged Fremantle to lure Hogan back to Perth on a 10-year deal worth $15 million.
The Dockers are in desperate need of a ready-made spearhead to replace veteran Matthew Pavlich, and Hogan looms as the perfect fit.
Although Hogan is contracted to Melbourne until the end of 2017, he has been linked to a move to Fremantle for several years now.
The amount of money Brown says Fremantle should offer Hogan dwarfs the $10 million, nine-year deal that brought Lance Franklin to Sydney.
When asked how other players would feel knowing one of their teammates was on such massive money, Pearce replied: "If that's what they're getting, then that's what they're getting.
"The boys don't speak about it. No one talks about contracts, or anything like that.
"It's sort of behind closed doors. What's done is done there, and the boys get ready to play.
"The playing group back the coaching and list management team 100 per cent, so wherever they decide to go, we'll be right behind them."
Aside from trying to lure Hogan and GWS forward Cam McCarthy, Fremantle's other list management priorities are re-signing star duo Nat Fyfe and Lachie Neale.
Fyfe is contracted until the end of 2017, but Neale's current deal expires at the end of this season.
Neale's stocks have risen considerably this season following a string of standout performances, and the South Australian is rumoured to be high on the hit-list of both Adelaide and North Melbourne.
Pearce re-signed with the Dockers for a further two years on Tuesday, with his new deal tying him to the club until the end of 2018.
The 30-year-old, who crossed from Port Adelaide at the end of 2012, hopes to end his career at Fremantle.
And he's adamant he will taste success with the club over the coming years despite Fremantle's disastrous 0-7 start to the year.
"I just have a lot of faith in the direction that we're heading in ... and the young blokes coming up," Pearce said.
"And we still have Fyfey and (Sandilands) staying around for another year.
"So I've got no doubt in my mind that we're heading in the right direction."
The Dockers will start as rank underdogs when they take on Hawthorn in Launceston on Saturday.
Fremantle haven't beaten Hawthorn away from home since 2001, and they face an uphill battle to end that 15-year streak.
