Legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin’s facial expressions stole the show last week during a speech by US President Donald Trump at the White House about the importance of space exploration.

Mr Aldrin was one of many guests standing beside President Trump celebrating the signing of an executive order to reinstate the National Space Council.

The 87-year-old looked perplexed and at times dismayed as President Trump spoke about his deep commitment to the space industry.

“At some point in the future, we’re going to look back and say, ‘How did we do it without space?’” Mr Trump says, at which point Mr Aldrin’s eyebrows rise.

“The human soul yearns for discovery.”

As Mr Trump continues to speak, video footage captures Mr Aldrin’s varied facial expressions from frowning to fidgeting.
