Frustrated Graham keen to give Sharks bite

Cronulla star Wade Graham has declared himself fully fit after overcoming his latest injury - a groin problem - in time for the final five games of the NRL regular season.

But his comeback against Canberra on Sunday could be stalled yet again as he and his partner anxiously await the birth of their first child, who was due last Saturday.

"So he's running a bit overtime. We'll just see how we go over the next couple of days. Very hard to plan around it," Graham told reporters on Thursday.

"She's feeling good at this stage and there's been really no movement. She'll go see the doc again tomorrow and then we'll just go from there."

Graham's groin problem continued an injury-riddled campaign in which hamstring, concussion, and cheekbone issues have limited him to just 13 games.

And while the numerous injuries denied him a chance of playing State of Origin this year, Graham is adamant it hasn't dented his confidence.

"I'm still really comfortable when I do play. I'm comfortable with (Matt Moylan) and the combination we've got on the left," he said.

"It just makes it frustrating to watch because you come for a couple of games and I feel like we're getting some rhythm, and then another thing pops up and I have to miss a bit of football."

But with his injuries hopefully behind him, Graham hopes to find some of his best form before this year's finals series.

The Sharks are sixth on the table but considered a title heavyweight.

"If anything I'm really fresh. Normally this time of year I'm pretty banged up but because of how much footy I've missed, I'm fresh physically and mentally," he said.

"There's big motivation for me to finish this season well and hopefully it can start on Sunday."
