G20 countries face economic headwinds: PM

Malcolm Turnbull says global economic challenges have increased since the 2014 G20 summit.

G20 nations have faced "stronger headwinds" in the global economy since the Brisbane summit, Malcolm Turnbull has told parliament.

The prime minister will leave on Thursday for his first major overseas trip, including the G20 summit in Turkey where he will receive an update on how countries are progressing in meeting an economic growth target set in Brisbane.

"Since the Brisbane summit there have been stronger headwinds in the global economy," Mr Turnbull said on Wednesday.
