Melbourne Renegades big hitter Cameron White wants evolution not revolution as they look to make a last-gasp bid for the Big Bash League finals.
And that begins on Thursday night when the out-of-form Hobart Hurricanes (2-4) arrive at Etihad Stadium.
White, who has again found himself in the runs in the shortest form of the game, believes the Renegades (2-3) remain a chance of making the semi-finals.
That belief comes from the Renegades' performances, rather than their results.
"If you take out the second Stars game when we were outplayed we were in every game until the last overs," he said on Wednesday.
"We know if we play our best it's good enough to beat anyone.
"We're not far away."
White, averaging 40 for the tournament like teammate Aaron Finch, believes he could be someone to make the difference.
"It'd be nice to kick on and get that 70 or 80. I'm batting well and the form is good so hopefully it's around the corner," he said.
The 33-year-old will miss out on taking on Hurricanes paceman Shaun Tait after the veteran speedster was again dumped from the Hobart side.
With an economy of 12.5 an over, Tait has struggled for consistency in the Hurricanes' poor campaign, finding himself ejected from the squad alongside spinner Clive Rose.
Pace duo Jake Reed and Sam Rainbird have instead been added to the Hurricanes squad.
Renegades strike bowler Chris Tremain is also on the outer, replaced by Nathan Rimmington.
The Renegades have also swapped batsmen with Marcus Harris coming in for Tom Beaton.
White has been a mainstay of the 20-over competition and given his performances, it's no surprise he joined the ranks of people calling for an extended competition.
"Everyone in Australian cricket takes a lot of notice about the Big Bash League. Maybe a few more games would be beneficial," he said.
