'Gangnam Style' Psy tops charts as he touches down in Oz

South Korean star Psy arrived in Australia for a promotional tour as his song topped the ARIA singles chart for a third week in a row.

The Gangnam Style craze continues Down Under, with the quirky song topping the ARIA singles chart for a third week in a row as Psy arrives in Australia for a promotional tour.

Views of the South Korean star's YouTube clip were approaching half a billion views on Monday, the same day Psy touches down in Australia for a promotional tour performing on Sunrise and X Factor.

Behind Psy is Australia's Guy Sebastian and his song Battle Scars, up one spot. British songstress Birdy's rendition of Skinny Love has also climbed two spots to No.3, while Adele's song for the new James Bond film Skyfall has debuted in fifth spot ahead of the film's Australian release on November 22.

British boy band One Direction's latest single, Live While We're Young, has fallen five spots to No.7, one spot ahead of Diamonds from Rihanna.

Pink's new album The Truth About Love has enjoyed a fourth consecutive week at No.1 on the ARIA albums chart. Four new albums have debuted in the top 10 albums, including albums from two Australian rock bands.

Perth-based Tame Impala's second album, Lonerism, ends its first week at No.4, while Brisbane band Ball Park Music's latest record Museum has debuted at No.9. American rock band Kiss have proven the best is not behind them, with the iconic white and black faced group's 20th album, Monster, debuting at No.7.

The popularity of pop rock legends the Bee Gees lives on with the release of a compilation to celebrate half a century of music by the Gibb brothers.

Released by Barry Gibb, the last surviving member of the Bee Gees, Mythology has debuted at No.10. On the ARIA country charts, Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson have topped the charts with their album Wreck & Ruin, up two spots.

Behind them is Lady Antebellum's Own The Night, while Keith Urban's record The Story So Far is up one spot to No.3. Taylor Swift has two albums in the top 10, with Fearless in fifth spot, while Speak Now is up two spots to No.7.

Australian country star Adam Brand's album There Will Be Love is No.9 after holding the top spot in recent weeks.
