Three senior citizens have been hospitalised in the United States after accidentally eating pot brownies served at a friend's funeral, The Huffington Post reports.
The trio, who are in their 70s and 80s, were admitted to a local hospital in California after complaining of "nausea, dizziness and [the] inability to stand unassisted".
Huntington Beach Police officials later determined that a tray of brownies being served at the memorial service had been laced with 'medical' marijuana.

"Our understanding is the person who had passed away consumed brownies with medical marijuana in them and apparently somebody put out a tray, maybe in honour or tribute to that person, but didn't tell everybody what was in them," police told KABC.
The unsuspecting victims have since been treated and released from hospital.
Police authorities are not taking the matter lightly, having released a statement on their Facebook page to remind the community of the harms of marijuana.
"It is important for the community to understand that marijuana is a drug and ... it is important to understand the negative consequences it creates in our community. Calling it 'medical marijuana' does not make it any safer."
