Garcia-Lopez reaches Argentina quarters

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez has advanced to the quarter-finals of the Argentina Open after beating second seed Pablo Carreno Busta.

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez beat second-seeded Spanish countryman Pablo Carreno Busta 7-6 (7-5) 1-6 7-6 (8-6) on Thursday to reach the Argentina Open quarter-finals.

Garcia-Lopez will face Argentina's Federico Delbonis, a 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (8-6) winner over Portugal's Gastao Elias in the clay-court event.

France's Gael Monfils and Argentina's Leonardo Mayer set up another quarter-final.

Monfils beat Dusan Lajovic of Serbia 6-4 6-3 and Mayer stopped fourth-seeded Fabio Fognini of Italy 6-3 6-3.

The other quarter-finals were set on Wednesday, with top-seeded Dominic Thiem of Austria set to face Guido Pella of Argentina, and Slovenia's Aljaz Bedene to play Argentina's Diego Schwartzman.
