Gardner back from concussion for Sixers

Ashleigh Gardner will return from concussion in the Sydney Sixers' Big Bash League clash against Western Australia on Saturday.

Star allrounder Ashleigh Gardner returns to boost the WBBL-leading Sydney Sixers against the Perth Scorchers on Saturday after recovering from her second head knock in two months.

The 20-year-old copped a ball to the helmet against the Scorchers two weeks ago, causing her to sit out the Sixers' last two games against Hobart after exhibiting signs of mild concussion.

Gardner had been in fine form, notably blasting a WBBL record 114 off 52 balls, with 10 sixes and nine fours, against the Melbourne Stars in the tournament opener.

But the Sixers were careful not to bring her back too early after she also missed the second one-day international during the Ashes in October due to a similar blow to the head.

She replaces Emily Leys in the Sixers' 13-woman squad to take on the Scorchers at Lilac Hill in WA on Saturday morning.

The Sixers go into the match with four wins from five starts while the Scorchers are fifth with three wins and two losses.
