As if getting the younger Gary Ablett back in the famous blue and white hoops wasn't exciting enough for the Geelong faithful.
Now there's the prospect of his publicity-shy father and namesake spending more time around the club.
Debate has long raged over which of the Abletts deserves the title of the Cats' greatest player.
Is it the enigmatic Gary Ablett senior, whose highlight-packed career included more than 1000 goals and a spot in the AFL Team of the Century?
Or is it his 33-year-old son, who has won two premierships, two Brownlow Medals (one as a Cat and one as a Sun) and who is is back at his hometown club after seven years at Gold Coast?

Junior has always deferred to senior when asked who is the better player.
And Ablett said his father was over the moon last month when the trade was completed.
The fact that he is based down here means we get to spend more time together," the younger Ablett said on Thurssday.
"I think that was the thing he was most excited about.
"But also the fact that I was coming back to the club that he spent 14 or 15 years with.
"He's super-excited.
"A lot of people don't know my dad that well, but he's always been a super support throughout my whole football career, and not just my football career but through life as well."
The 56-year-old Ablett even joked with his son that he could be tempted to launch a comeback.
"I'm pretty sure he's been down to a few games over the last seven years," said the younger Ablett.
"He loves this football club.
"I'm sure he'll be spending plenty of time down here.
"He's still saying to me he thinks he can make a comeback and kick his three or four goals a game.
"So you never know - we might be able to get him a spot on the list as well."
The family was rocked last month by the death of Gary Ablett junior's older sister Natasha who had suffered mental illness.
"It has been a tough time, it really has, but at the same time I think it has brought us closer as a family," he said.
