Luckless Sydney star Gary Rohan's longest injury-free run in a single AFL season looks to have ended, after he was stretchered off just before halftime in Saturday's AFL semi-final against Adelaide at the SCG.

Forward Rohan came flying in from the side for a contested mark, but injured his right knee as he fell to the ground.

The game was held up for a couple of minutes while he was treated and the halftime siren blew just a few seconds after Rohan left the ground.

Serious doubts exist over whether Rohan will play any further part in the Sydney's finals campaign, which will continue at the MCG next Friday night against Geelong.

A large wave of sympathetic applause broke out around the SCG, as the exciting but injury-prone 25-year-old Swan was taken from the ground.

Rohan triggered the Swans hot start to the game by kicking the first goal and finished with 1.1, six disposals, two marks and three tackles.

He didn't play his first senior game this season until round nine due to a hamstring injury, but has subsequently had arguably the best year of his oft-interrupted career.

Relishing his role as a forward, Rohan had already set personal season-best career-tallies in goals and tackles.

He was using his renowned speed to pressure defenders in addition to making an impact on the scoreboard.

Saturday's match was his 16th in a row, the most he has ever managed in one season, though he did notch 24 straight across the 2014-15 campaigns.
